Global Action Plan
Global Action Plan, a PIO Partner, is an NGO that specialises in sustainable behavior change and supports programs for schools and youth, households and communities, and workplaces. They applied our Guiding Principles and adapted activities from the workshop template, along with surveys and follow-up communications based on our tools.
“It has really made us appreciate the value of getting individuals to think and share their thoughts about an issue before coming together to talk about it and the importance of showing how all that thinking has been incorporated into the session.”
“We loved how the resources helped create an open and equal environment—everyone felt valued and as a result we heard many voices who normally stay silent.”

Global Action Plan
A snapshot story of principles in action.
Where they went
Global Action Plan was seeking to incorporate social justice into their strategic planning during an “Away Day” staff retreat context, following global events sparked by Black Lives Matter movements. They were able to use the PIO facilitator guide, as well as slide deck templates and surveys, some of which are linked below. This became a three-hour workshop and zoom meeting, all with support of the PIO team.
What they found
They wanted to approach this thoughtfully, in response to Black Lives Matter events underway globally. How could they help have “hard conversations” during their team retreat? The leadership team experimented using PIO’s Guiding Principles, workshop planning and facilitation tools in their approach.
Where they are going
Global Action Plan are planning to use the Guiding Principles as they move forward in future planning. They’ve found the materials easy to adapt to the needs of workshop facilitation.
